This mannequin has been in a store window in Chihuahua, Mexico for the past 75 years. Pascualita also has a very unique urban legend behind her. Many believe that she is not a mannequin, but the perfectly preserved corpse of the previous owner’s daughter.
Sonia Burciaga, a shop worker says, “Every time I go near Pascualita my hands break out in a sweat. Her hands are very realistic and she even has varicose veins on her legs. I believe she’s a real person.”
Other stories include Pascualita chaning positions on her own, her eyes following you around and the usual superstitions that come with haunted maannequins.
Why has no one lifted her skirt to further prove if she’s an actual mummy?
On Easter Sunday, 2011, Daniel Bartlam decided to commit the perfect murder by killing his own mother. That night, after calmly mowing the lawn and eating some Easter eggs, he sneaked into his mother’s bedroom and hit her on the head seven times with a claw hammer. Daniel then covered her bloodied body with paper, doused it in petrol and set fire to it, hoping to destroy the evidence. Police found the hammer in his room.
In 2009 15 year-old Alyssa Bustamante lured 9 year-old Elizabeth Olten into woods, where she used a knife to slash the girls throat and wrists, she then strangled her. Alyssa disposed of Elizabeth’s body in a pre-dug grave. She told police she wanted to know what it felt like to kill. In her diary she wrote, “It was ahmazing. As soon as you get over the ‘ohmygawd I can’t do this’ feeling, it’s pretty enjoyable. I gotta go to church now…lol.” She was sentenced to life in February 2012.
